During our trip to Guwahati, we visited Aurum for a family lunch and had a wonderful experience. We tried their South Indian dishes and Chole Bhature — both were delicious and freshly prepared. The ambience was pleasant, with a clean and elegant setting. The food quality, taste, and presentation were impressive. Definitely a must-visit place in Guwahati for good food lovers.”

Revised Review: Aurum Cafe: Delicious Food, Cramped Dining Experience Aurum Cafe, a newcomer to the culinary scene, offers a tantalizing menu of dishes that are sure to delight your taste buds. However, while the food is undoubtedly delicious, the service leaves much to be desired, and the dining experience can be cramped. We began our dining experience by ordering the Mix Sauce Penne Pasta, which was advertised as being served with garlic bread. To our disappointment, the garlic bread was missing from our order. Despite pointing out the discrepancy to the staff and showing them the menu, they seemed oblivious to the oversight and failed to apologize or rectify the situation. To make up for the initial disappointment, we decided to try the Small Platter, which included Paneer butter masala, naan, dal makhani, jeera rice, and onion salad. This platter was a delightful combination of flavors and textures, and it was clear that the kitchen had a knack for preparing authentic Indian cuisine. We also enjoyed the butter cheese onion paper masala dosa, which was equally delicious. Unfortunately, the positive experience with the food was overshadowed by the unprofessional behavior of the waiters. Their attitude seemed somewhat arrogant and aloof, which is a major turn-off in the hospitality industry. When we expressed our concerns to the owner, we were surprised to receive a dismissive response. Instead of apologizing for the service issues, the owner suggested that such unprofessionalism was to be expected in a new cafe and that things would improve over time. While the food at Aurum Cafe is exceptional, the dining experience can be less than ideal, especially for larger groups. The sitting tables are sufficient for just two persons, and when four or more people are made to sit together, the eating experience can become cramped and unenjoyable. This, coupled with the unprofessional service, detracts from the overall dining experience. If you're willing to overlook these issues, you may enjoy a satisfying meal. However, it's worth considering other options if you prioritize exceptional service and a comfortable dining environment.
